I-264 Watterson Expressway Interchange

The project is located on the Watterson Expressway (I-264) in Jefferson County, KY. The project included the reconstruction of 1.8 miles of the Watterson Expressway from a four-lane facility to an eight-lane facility with collector-distributor roads. The project involved melding major generators into the Watterson Expressway. These included the Crittenden Drive interchange, the Louisville International Airport (Standiford Field) interchange, the Kentucky Fairgrounds interchange, Northbound and Southbound I-65 to Westbound Watterson Expressway and Eastbound Watterson Expressway to northbound and Southbound I-65.
Engineering services included alternate location studies, field survey, preliminary plan development, final right-of-way plans, capacity analysis determining the level of service, lighting plans, a complex and detailed phasing scheme for the traffic control plan, overhead directional and conventional signing plans, temporary and permanent pavement marking plans, retaining wall design plans, final bridge plans, and final contract construction plans.
