Pecan Drive
McCracken County, KY
A Paducah-McCracken County Transportation Study identified a need for collector improvements to connect major arterials within the area to the Regional Trade Center area located at I-24, Exit 5 (US 60). The Pecan Drive project was identified as one of the priority collector projects. This project consisted of the construction of approximately two miles of 3-lane curb and gutter roadway to connect US 62 with Village Square Drive located within the Regional Trade Center area. The project included sections along new alignment and a widened section along a 2-lane minor street (Pecan Drive).
The project was separated into two construction contracts. One contract included the construction of two PCI beam, integral end bent bridges of 100’ and 130’ spans over Perkins Creek and Crooked Creek. The bridge contract required realignment of portions of Crooked Creek and Perkins Creek. Stream construction permits obtained for this portion of the project included mitigation improvements. The other contract will include grade, drain and surfacing for the remainder of the project.
