Cobb County, GA

Shiloh Road and Shallowford Road link in northern Cobb County to create a vital east/west route across a highly residential portion of the county. The existing 2-lane roadway is to be reconstructed as a 3-lane section to create bike friendly lanes along the entire 4.8 mile length of the project. An urban shoulder will be utilized for the majority of the project with a 5 foot sidewalk being added along one side of the roadway. In addition, a horizontal curve and several sections of the vertical alignment have been identified as inadequate with regard to sight distance and will be corrected as part of the redesign.

Florence & Hutcheson was contracted by the Cobb County Department of Transportation to provide engineering consulting services. The project services include surveying, roadway design, utility coordination, and environmental services.
