US 71 Relocation

Florence & Hutcheson was contracted by the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to provide design engineering services for approximately 4 miles of interstate facility on new location from the Louisiana State Line to Kelley Bayou just north of an interchange being partially constructed south of Doddridge.
Included was the design of the interchange at U.S. 71 south of Doddridge excluding the ramp segments designed under a previous assignment.
The project consists of design of approximately 7.6 miles of interstate facility on new location. Segment 1 begins just south of the existing interchange at S.H. 245 and Arkansas Boulevard and extend north and east approximately 2.3 miles to a new interchange location at Interstate 30. From there it extends north and west approximately 5.3 miles to existing U.S. 71 north of Texarkana (Segment 2).
