Shawn Washer is Regional Manager, based in Paducah, KY. He has more than 20 years experience in every facet of civil engineering design and operations, and continues to step up to the plate in roles of increasing responsibility for F&H. His current corporate responsibilities include management of the daily operational aspects of the firm and the development, operation and improvement of the firm’s service delivery systems and programs.
Shawn joined Florence & Hutcheson in 1987 as Project Engineer with Geotechnical assignments on road and bridge projects for state Departments of Transportation throughout the southeast. He has also been involved in projects for the private sector which included performing subsurface investigations for process structures at industrial plants, water tanks, new commercial buildings, and landfills.
Through the years, Shawn has expanded the firm’s Geotechnical service line to include proprietary programs, on-site data analysis capability, and in-house laboratory facilities for testing services. He has built a team of technicians skilled and certified by AMRL and USACE who perform testing and analysis in accordance with current AASHTO and ASTM procedures.
A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Shawn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is a licensed professional engineer in 11 states, and is actively involved in numerous civic and professional associations.
