Rob Echols is Chief Executive Officer of Florence & Hutcheson where he, along with his leadership team, is focused on providing engineering excellence that empowers our clients to make distinctive and substantive improvements in the country’s civil infrastructure and environment. Rob guides the organization through development and implementation of system, services and personal performance initiatives that continue to enhance service to our clients and augment the firm’s wide range of technical proficiency. His experience with Public/Private partnerships and Design-Build programs qualifies Florence & Hutcheson as the ‘go-to’ firm for successful performance within these project delivery systems.
In addition, Rob’s leadership in community involvement extends across the organization, where members of management and staff participate in local, regional and national public service programs throughout the year.
Rob has more than 27 years of increasingly complex engineering design, management, development, and operations experience, including the design or management of design of more than $1 billion in roadway and bridge projects. Since joining the firm in 1983, Rob has designed and supervised some of the most significant transportation engineering projects in the Southeast. He has been hands-on in every facet of the industry from structure design and complex traffic staging and traffic control design to survey and geometric design for roadways on interstate projects throughout the country.
A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Rob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in multiple states throughout the Southeast, and a professional land surveyor in South Carolina. In addition, Rob is an active member of numerous professional, trade and civic organizations.
