Ben Glunt, PE

Ben Glunt represents the firm’s new generation of leadership. He has overall responsibility for the vision, direction and growth of the organization, with a focus on expansion in key US markets and beyond. He takes personal responsibility for fostering the collegial nature of the Florence & Hutcheson Family. His genuine ethic of service to our clients and to each other is a continuous source of inspiration both within and outside the firm.
With more than 30 years of ‘boots on the ground’ experience, Ben has been extensively involved in the design and management of major transportation and environmental projects throughout the South and Midwest. Beginning his career in Paducah, KY, and working on projects in a variety of markets, his assignment as Project Manager on a 17-mile, $130 million construction management project in Greenville, SC, led to the firm’s expansion in the Carolinas and Virginia. To date, Ben has worked in the trenches on more than $1.5 billion of roadway and bridge projects which serve 10.1 million vehicles per day.
In addition to his technical expertise and experience, Ben has been instrumental in the growth of the firm’s infrastructure to support the company’s rapid growth. He has expanded the firm’s reach and resources through several strategic mergers and acquisitions.
Ben is a graduate of Georgetown College and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a registered professional engineer in more than a dozen states, and is actively involved in numerous civic and professional organizations.
