Job Description
Florence & Hutcheson seeks a Stream Restoration Designer.
Required skills and education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related Natural Resource field and a minimum of 3 years experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Training on natural channel design (Rosgen) and stream assessment.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite software.
Experience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and verbally.
Experience developing, directing and managing multiple projects, including experience creating and following timelines and delivering products and results in a timely fashion.
Required Skills and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering, or related natural resource field and minimum of 3 years related experience, or equivalent combination. Extensive stream/wetland restoration experience is preferred.
Knowledge of current trends and issues in wetland and stream regulation, wetland and stream science, particularly restoration.
Experience with Federal, State, and local regulations, and policies for stream and wetland mitigation.
Experience in preparing scopes of work for wetland and stream restoration, enhancement, or creation projects.
Experience with contract preparation, construction oversight, and contract and budget management.
Successful experience in developing, directing and managing multiple projects, including the ability to create and follow timelines and deliver products in a timely fashion.
Demonstrated experience in accomplishing tasks in an orderly, organized manner and keeping organized files and records.
Demonstrated experience in MS Word, MS Excel, MicroStation, Web browsers, etc.
Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing, interpreting and synthesizing a variety of data, including aerial photography, soil surveys, topographic maps, and GIS products. Experience in developing technical reports.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with the public and/or media both in writing and verbally.
Experience in successfully completing federal and state permits that may be required for stream and wetland impacts.
