Job Description
Florence & Hutcheson is seeking a mid to senior level Project Engineer for large civil/site development projects.
Responsible for the design of civil infrastructure for civil / site development projects including but not limited to residential and commercial subdivisions, industrial development, ports, harbors, mines, quarries, recreational areas, etc.
Coordinates with project manager to implement measures to successfully meet all project goals and objectives
Leads design team in preparation of drawings and specifications for general civil/site development projects
Coordinates and oversees technical aspects of project development from preliminary planning through construction
Required skills and education:
B.S. in Civil Engineering (M.S. preferred)
PE in Kentucky or ability to obtain within 6 months
8 years experience in similar work
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with the following:
AutoCAD and/or Microstation
Coordinate Geometry
3-D terrain modeling
Hydrology, Hydraulic modeling and analysis
Stormwater Management Plans
Erosion Protection and Sediment Control
Desired Skills and Experience:
GIS
BIM
Geotechnical Engineering
Site Utility Design
River Transportation and Mooring Requirements
Familiarity with Total Station and GPS Surveys
Industrial Piping
Parking Lot and Local Street Design
Familiarity with Environmental Assessment and Permitting Process
